A trio of buildings in Birmingham city centre have today won regional awards.
Centre City, Energy Systems Catapult and The Colmore Building have been recognised as some of the best workplaces in the Midlands and central England at the annual British Council for Offices (BCO) regional awards.
They will now go forward to compete against other regional winners at the national BCO awards in October.
The annual BCO awards programme recognises the highest-quality developments in the UK office sector.
Making up the trio of Birmingham winners is the The Colmore Building which has undergone a programme of renovation and rebranding, from Colmore Plaza, following its acquisition by AshbyCapital in 2015.
BCO judges praised the £3.3 million enhancement programme which has turned a “good but tired building into a great, modern base for businesses” with a new cycle hub and ground floor café among the work carried out.
The other winners were:
Best corporate workplace
Marston’s House, Wolverhampton
Alconbury Weald Club, Huntingdon
The Officers’ Mess Business Centre, Cambridge
